Privacy Policy

1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how PickUps (“we”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use dashpickups.com and related services. It works alongside our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — name, email, and (optionally) mobile phone.
- Profiles you create — positions, bats/throws, highlights, links, and a date of birth used solely to compute age-division eligibility.
- Activity — teams, tournaments, needs, availability, requests, and messages you create.
- Technical data — basic logs needed to operate and secure the Service.
3. How we protect dates of birth
A player’s date of birth is encrypted and is never shown to other users. We expose only a computed eligibility result (for example, whether a player is eligible for a given age division) — never the date itself.
4. How we use information
To operate the Service: create accounts and profiles, match teams and players, compute eligibility, enable messaging, send transactional notifications (such as verification and request alerts), maintain safety and moderation, and improve the Service.
5. Messaging and contact protection
Messages are exchanged in-app between account holders. To protect privacy, we automatically remove phone numbers, email addresses, and links from message content. We may review reported messages for safety.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the Service (for example, email delivery via Amazon SES), and when required by law or to protect the safety of users. Public tournament and team pages may be visible to anyone; player profiles are not public.
7. Your choices and rights
You can review and update your information in the app, and you can delete a player profile or your account. Deletion removes the profile from the Service and begins removal of associated personal data. To request help, email privacy@dashpickups.com.
8. Data retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, maintain safety records, and comply with legal obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption of sensitive fields, scoped access, and audit logging — to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
10. Age and account holders
Accounts are for adults 18 and older. Player profiles are created and managed by an adult account holder; a profile is data managed by that account, not an independent login.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy; material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
